Susanne moved from Germany to South Carolina in 1990. She is a graduate of the University Dortmund and University Kaiserslautern, Germany. Extensive travels through Europe and living in different parts of the world have not only significantly influenced her art but also further developed her cultural insight over the years.
As a contemporary artist with European flair, Susanne experiments with different media and multiple textures, following spontaneous perceptions and inspirations to create her abstract paintings and to catch the viewer's eye. There are no boundaries in art in Susanne's approach.
Her award-winning art has been shown and juried nationally and internationally. Susanne's artwork may be viewed in private and public collections throughout Europe and the USA. Currently her paintings are exhibited at the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery, 160 East Bay Street in Charleston, SC.
Susanne Frenzel is an exhibiting member of the Charleston Artist Guild (CAG) and has been serving as a Board member for many years. She was a past Gallery Director and Director of Gallery Hospitality. Her present position at CAG is a Director of Artistic Development.
Currently Susanne lives in Mount Pleasant, SC, and works as a Professor of German at The Citadel, The Military College of SC.
